Transfer/Admissions criteria in order of priority:
  1. Children for whom their statement of special educational needs names this school.
  2.  Children who reside within the designated area and:
a)      have a sibling at the school at the time of their admission
b)      have no sibling connection with the school
  1. Children who reside outside the designated area and:
a)      have a sibling at the school at the time of their admission
b)      have no sibling connection with the school

The school capacity is currently 300 pupils.  In the event of over subscription in any of these criteria, then those living closest to the school will be given priority.

In the Summer Term each year, there are induction visits for pupils who are to start in the following September.  There is also an evening meeting for the parents of those children.  In addition, the Head teacher will be pleased to see any parent regarding admission throughout the year.  Please note that the Specialist Resource Base has its own admissions policy agreed with Norfolk Children’s Services.

Are there special arrangements for pupils with behavioural difficulties?

Schools cannot refuse a pupil with behavioural difficulties or require an assessment of special educational needs prior to admission. The only exception is that a school can refuse the admission of a child with challenging behaviour and refer it back to the local authority for action under the Fair Action Protocol. The local authority would then have to decide where the child goes to school. Parents still have the right to appeal to an independent appeal panel against any such refusal.

If you require any further information about admissions to Cromer Junior School, please talk to the school office team.
