Year 3 Trip to the Beach

Best Effort Assembly

Lots of certificates were given out as usual. We also had 5 headteacher awards ☺

Ron Sayer!!

CJS were extremely lucky to receive an exclusive performance from Ron Sayer - a local and international musician - who we are extremely privileged to have as our new guitar teacher. Our own Y6 teacher Jonathan Amies - himself a talented musician - joined in.
The result? A very enjoyable performance which the children enjoyed. :-)

Year 3 Trip to the Beach

As part of our Water topic, we went to the beach today to get inspiration for writing a poem. The children had to think about all their senses while down there, writing down words linked to this and also sketch what they could see.
Next, they had a history quiz linked to the work we did about Henry Blogg and lifeboat rescues.
Well done Year 3 for great behaviour and effort with your work..

Year 5 put Henry V111 on trial

Year 5 have been learning about The Tudors. We decided that Henry V111 was to be tried for murder and deception!
The case from the prosecution was very strong......
but the defence barrister counted their arguments extremely well....
Witnesses were called, including former wives and church members....
The King looked on.... former wife, Anne of Cleves gave evidence
Then Jane Seymour pleads for his release....
 The Jury looks on ....
The Pope gives his evidence .....
 As does Anne Boleyn...
And Catherine Parr, the only wife to survive...
Prosecution sums up their arguments and asks for Henry to be found guilty.

Inevitably the jury found His Royal Highness......
