Skate Park!! Exciting News!

Yesterday CJS children attended an assembly to hear about the new skate park which hopefully will be opened in the near future. £85,000 has already been raised - with £65,000 to go!! The design was on show for the children to see - which brought gasps of delight.
We are going to think of ideas to help with fundraising!!
There is a skatepark ball to be held on 22nd March. See Mrs Spruce or Mr deNeve if you are interested!

Year 5 artist gallery

Year 5 have been working very hard this week creating their artist gallery. They have learned lots about artists including Constable, Hockney, Lowry, Rossetti, Riley and Blake. They have used different medium to create their pieces of art which are displayed in the year 5 area.

Mr de Neve opened their art gallery where they had cocktails and learned how to act in social situations such as these.

Thank you for all your hard work year 5. A big thank you also to those of you who visited and supported our budding artists this afternoon. The display will be up for a few weeks so if you didn't manage to get to see it today there is still time.

We Will Rock You!!

Incredibly proud of our children who were part of the We Will Rock You show at The Academy for the last 3 days. Also very proud of our amazing ex pupils who looked and sounded so very wonderful on that stage :-)

And for those of you who couldn't make it to watch the choir...

Here is a snippet of what the children were doing...

Parents were invited to watch the choir at work :-) and WOW did they work hard!! Thank you to all who attended to see your children in action. As ever a big thanks also to the children for doing a great job; also to Mrs Thompson and Mr Amies for their time and energy - looking forward to a performance soon!!

Year 5 parent assembly

Today Year 5 had a special parent assembly where they were able to showcase all their projects from this half term. These included storybook writing and illustrating, a D.T. project where they made buildings and their latest project making silent movies.

They have worked very hard and were thrilled that so many of you were able to come along and share in their success.

They have worked hard this half term to achieve their certificates and many of them were handed out today.

Some of Year 5 even received their bookmarks for saving up 5 big certificates. Well done to them as well.

'Rock Up In Red' Day!!

Why did our children drive us mad to wear red clothes to school today I hear you all asking? Well it's because the lovely Mary and her fab gang in the school kitchen once again organised a charity event to support the British Heart Foundation. Wear red for the day and donate to charity; and Mary will supply one of her fabulous roast dinners :-).
What did we all look like??? Simply Red!!! (and fantastic of course).

Best Effort 07-02-14

Lots of children received certificates.

These children received a bookmark for 5 big certificates :-)

The chair of the School Council and The Charity/Evens Coordinator told us how much we had raised for 'Rock Up In Red' for the British Heart Foundation.

Our 1st 'Sportasaurus' Winner!!

CSF leaders Sian and Chris have introduced the new Sportasaurus Award which they will award in assembly each Monday. The winner is someone who had tried really hard during their games session.
They receive 'Sportasaurus' to look after for the week :-).

Science at Cromer Academy!!

Cromer Academy very kindly invited Year 6 over today to use their science labs, and their fab teachers, to have a science lesson. Lots of brilliant learning took place and we even got to use Bunsen burners - how excited were we??
We investigated the melting point of different types of chocolate. A great session - thanks to Jill Bullimore for helping to set it  up - and to Mr Bestwick and Miss Waldron for giving their time :-).
